Really this information is fun and exciting. It's great a way to see our blogs traffic start at zero and slowly grow over time as you publish more articles and promote our blog. There are many tools are available to monitor and track traffic coming to your blog, but this tools is very effective and free tool is Google Analytics. Google Analytics allows our website or blogs sites view information about our blog's traffic at level ZERO.
How to add Google Analytics to website or blog?
Here are some simple way to add Google Analytics to website or blog. Please follow this rules Step by Step.
Step 1: Signing up for Google Analytics. Its is easy and free. To Signing up Google Analytics Click here. Note: Click on the link that says: "Sign up now". If you have a Google account (Gmail Account), just enter your Google account by entering your ID and Password. If do not have a Google account (Gmail Account), click on the link that says: "Create an account now". You must have a Google account in order to utilize / understand Google Analytics.
Step 2 : If it’s your first time using Google Analytics then before you get your nifty tracking script you will need to answer a couple of questions and accept Google’s terms of service. The first page will ask for your Website URL as seen below: Enter your Website’s URL in the https://www.itinfoworld.org/ format Enter your Account Name (For Account Name enter in whatever you want to call your website or project. And finally select the correct Time Zone of your area then click continue .
Step 3: When you’re done, click continue. Then you will be be asked to enter in your contact information. Fill it correctly and accept Google Analytics’s user agreement or terms and conditions, Accept it.
Step 4: After you agree to Google’s terms of service you finally see your nifty tracking code for the specific website URL you previously entered. Now copy the code snippet and go to Step 3 to learn how to install this code snippet on your site.
Step 5: Add your tracking code in your website:
It is very very important step for you, the one that will install the Google Analytics to your site and allow Analytics to begin pulling and tracking data for you. If you are running the Thesis theme, installing the Analytics code is easy, here's how:
- Copy the code and "Paste this code on your site" section
- Login to your blog's administration console
- In the Thesis section, select Site Options.
- Under Site Options click on the plus sign next to Stat and Tracking scripts.
- Paste the the code in the Stat and Tracking scripts text box and click on the green save button.
Now return to the Google Analytics page and click Save and Finish. If you are not running Thesis , you can either manually insert the Analytics code at the bottom of your Theme's code or use a plugin, I would recommend a plugin if you aren't technical. The plugin I recommend using is Simple Google Analytics. Just install the plugin, activate it, then visit the Settings.
Simple Google Analytics Settings menu in your WordPress admin console.(Only for WordPress) Here you will fine a blank box to entered Google Analytics ID. Now enter your code here.
Add Site Speed Tracking to code - Leave this set to the default. Is your blog a sub-domain - Again, leave this set to the default. Domain - Enter the domain for your site. For example, this site is: sideincomeblogging.com. Leave off the http:// and the www.yourdominname.com Click Save Changes and your Analytics code is installed!
Finally: Verifying your Analytics installation It will take a few hours for Analytics to begin working. You can verify that your site is working and tracking traffic correctly by returning to Google Analytics a few hours later and logging in. If you site is working there will be a green check box in the status column next to your site. or If it's not working, there will be a red mark or a yellow caution mark indicating tracking is still being set-up. If your site has a red status, follow the plugin set-up instructions again. Double check your ID and domain name.
